The first stop on the trip is Ostrow Tumski, which is an isle on the Warta River. This is the place where first Poles set up their settlements in IX century. A hundred years later the ruler of Poland - Mieszko I transformed it into an oval stronghold surrounded by wood-and-earth ramparts, with an early stone palace. He also built the gothic cathedral, which walls guard many chapels with ashes of Polish kings.

Later our guide will take you to the Old Town Square, where the main attraction is Town Hall, topped with 61m-high tower. Every day at noon the two metal goats appear from a door in the facade and butt horns a dozen times, in a difference to an old legend, which the guide will tell you. Next to Town Hall you will see colorful Fish Sellers’ Houses and behind there is the Weigh House, where young craftsmen received fencing instructions and masses were held, when the Parish Church was inaccessible due to floods.
Then we will pass by Gorka Palace and a few steps further is Parish Church - one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Poland, crammed with monumental altars. It was built in XVII century originally as the Jesuits' monastery.
