So the first on the program is Wieliczka - the oldest working mine, opened for tourists in Europe.
Salt was mined here since the 13th century. Almost 3000 chambers are connected by nearly 300 km of corridors. You can see a giant caverns, underground lakes, chapels with sculptures in the crystalline salt and rich ornamentation carved in the salt rock. Go into the largest and the most beautiful among underground chapels - Chapel of Saint Kinga. Here even the chandeliers are made of salt! After this trip you will have no doubts why Wieliczka is already thirty years on the UNESCO list.
Later our guide will take you to a magnificent castle in Nowy Wisnicz, which was a residence of the magnates.
The castle combines features of defensive and residential architecture with picturesque landscape. Looking carefully you will recognize combination of Gothic, Renaissance and baroque styles. See five defensive towers, arcaded courtyard, richly ornamented chambers. Would you like to go inside? The exhibition arranged in the interiors shows the history of the castle as well as the process of its reconstruction.
Take a rest and we will go to a small, charming town - Lipnica Murowana. Here we invite you for nice walk around. You can see wooden houses with arcades and the XVth century church of St. Leonard made of larch wood. The church is pearl of Wooden Architecture Trail and is placed on UNESCO heritage list.
